I was just trying to imagine what it would be like to shift to a remote region with no high-tech devices or good roads that allowed for speeding or facilities like cable or satellite connections (because the connection was too costly for my pocket)–and my mind boggled at the consequences! Television with its myriad channels has become so much a part of my life today, that I would feel totally lost without it! And if it should happen that all the TV networks are cut off except one–it is a situation I would not even wish to consider!

But it is equally unbelievable how noisy people have become! There is always some sort of loud yakking going on, not to mention equally loud dogs and music. Disturbances for a writer who only wanted to be left in peace to carry on his work are too myriad to list down here! Some of them involve people who got drunk, gun lovers, and so on! Desperate for some quiet place to gather my thoughts, I bought a trailer and upped it into the deepest part of the woods! This was a situation I had only imagined, but never realized that it would be put into practice so soon!

My friends who accompanied me, had come for the sole purpose of setting up the TV with its satellite dish system. There was a remote too. I was not familiar with either of them. Despite having numerous boxes and bundles to put into their right places, I left it aside to give more attention to the TV. It was only after my friends had left, that I took up to settling the place a little. I had come here to spend a long period. Tired out after my labors, I switched on the TV with the help of the remote. The only channel that I could get hold of was showing a scene full of violence, full of guns and explosions. But I was stuck with it, since I had no idea of how to go about switching channels! And my friends were too far away to help and would return only after a few days!

That’s when I realized how grateful I should be for all the numerous TV networks that we had! Though I had to sit with one channel only, still it kept me from going insane in that quiet place. My mind also kept going round in circles, developing one hypothetical situation after another. Just imagine that there is a boat that can carry only seven people, but there are ten of you. Now try to figure out who will go with you and whom you will leave behind. This was mental dynamics at its most active! Similarly, among all the networks, which TV network would I carry with me into such remote areas if I had a choice? Reality TV had a double advantage–you could hear the news as well. Or I could go for the most popular show which refused to have commercial breaks, such as the Turner Movie Classics. The Indy Channel could also prove to be quite entertaining. If very serious by nature, there were always those educational and informative channels to choose from. Now, which one would I choose?

Wow! It is tough to decide! At least for me! What about you? Let me just say, “Thank you God for providing so many TV networks and so many good artistes! Amen!

With the advancement in certain softwares and the reliability of online connection, anyone can download music to Ipod Nano without any interruptions. Moreover, the Ipod has become a sought-after entertainment gadget, sold in various electronics stores and retail outlets.

Even though the Nano is made handier and smaller by Apple, there are basically no differences when it comes to downloading music. The dissimilarities however, are centered on the fact that the normal or larger Ipod models consequently have bigger storage capacity.

If you are searching for methods on achieving music download to Ipod Nano, one possible way is to use your own CD collection. This is a common and convenient practice among individuals with Ipod players. However, if you need to find the music you require on the web, you have to locate a good website.

The Itunes store site is where you can find an exceptional range of music, categorized according to artist, genres, and albums. Navigating through the website is almost effortless, since you will be guided through the entire downloading procedure, whether for music, movies, or TV shows. Whether you wish to source your songs from your CDs or from the website, it can all be done at Itunes.

Ipod Nano music download can also be done through other websites on the internet. As much as Itunes is the official music library from Apple, there are also other sites where you can find compatible music files for your Nano. These sites can either be the free torrents sites or the membership websites.

The clear difference between these two types of websites is the expense involved, or the lack of it. When you download Ipod Nano music from the free sites, you are not required to pay anything. You simply have to pick the music types you require and proceed with loading your Ipod. With the paid websites, although you don’t have to make payments for every song your download, you are still obligated to make a membership fee.

There have been several complaints on the unreliability of the free websites, since these locations are normally poorly maintained. Oftentimes the services could be substandard, and these sites do not provide protection from virus, annoying spyware and malware.

Reviewing on the various ways that you can make music transfers to your Ipod; you need to take into account the risk you are willing to take and the expenses you can afford. If you wish to download music to Ipod Nano without any glitches at all, you need to follow the highly recommended methods both online and offline.

The word ‘free’ has lost its meaning due to overuse and misuse. It is usually associated with fraud or fake if not for something that is cheap. You must have heard a lot about the free DVD copy software as it is much advertised on the internet. But you must know the facts about the free DVD copy program before you make up your mind on it one way or the other.

The free DVD copy program is usually referred to the ready-for-use demo version or trial version of the software, which you can try and test before you actually purchase it. You don’t have to buy the product straightaway. In fact, you can test the software for a particular period and then decide whether you feel like buying the product. The free DVD copy program is very customer friendly.

This trial period that comes with the free DVD copy program is of great help since it cuts out any risk whatsoever. You can use all the facilities of the original software until the trial period ends. There is no time limit on the demo version. The free DVD copy program has a wonderful array of software applications like DVD copying and burning, audio conversion, CD copying and burning, copying DVD to VCD, and the ability to compress data from the original DVD to fit into a DVD-R or recordable DVD. The free DVD copy program makes all these possible.

These free DVD copy program can compress data in such a way that it is impossible to find out whether the DVD copy is an original or a copy of the original. If you are using a standard system, the compression can take about two hours. These software programs give you the ultimate in copying experience. The compressing of movies is quite difficult a task. As a result, the standard system is used. The free DVD copy program makes this often-difficult task of copying quite easy.

If you go in for any other free DVD copy program, it will split a DVD movie disc into two or more discs. This spoils the fun of watching a movie because you have to continuously change discs. With the free DVD copy program you don’t have to put up with these various permutations and combinations to copy a DVD from one DVD to another or to the hard disk. So, it is better to do a bit of research before buying the particular software program.

The shrinking of data is the most commonly used alternative. The software applications we are talking of here are also known as transcoders, compressor engines, or encoders. There are certain things to be considered before the target movie is copied onto the DVD. You need to take good care to copy all the features to the target disc. You can also copy the dual layered DVDs into a single layer disc with a free DVD copy program.

You will have to integrate decryptors with the program to copy different movies otherwise you cannot make a copy of a copyrighted DVD movie. With the decryptor the task is made very easy. Thus the free DVD copy program is the means of copying DVDs with great convenience.

Everyone who has ever loved RPGs and owned an XBOX has likely played Fable.

Everyone who has ever loved RPGs and owned an XBOX has likely played Fable. Even those who do not fall into that category have likely heard of it or seen someone playing it. Personally, it ranks as one my favorite games. And so, here we are, looking forward to the release of it’s highly anticipated sequel - Fable 2.

For those few who were left out of the loop, Fable was an RPG where you started gameplay as a boy looking to earn a few gold to buy your sister a birthday gift. But, by the end of the day, your life was in shambles, your parents murdered, your sister kidnapped, and ended with you being ‘adopted’ into the Guild of Heroes in the land of Albion. As you literally grew and aged, you could complete quests, explore the land, and every choice you made not only affected you good/evil reputation and public opinion, but even affected your look.

This alone was enough to sell me on the game. And while short, and shipped with far less content than originally promised by developers, still made my top list. Everything that Fable was, and wasn’t, Fable 2 looks to deliver.

So, why don’t we jump in and see what it has to offer.

From released information on the game and footage of such - and a little digging around on the internet, we learn that your childhood starts off in a bleak and disturbed Albion centuries into the future… and it begins with no less of a heartbreak. All I’ll tell you though, is that you start with being the target of bird droppings. You also have an older sister who dreams big of things that will never come to pass for a couple of street kids such as yourselves.

Your first quest in the game as a child is to earn five gold coins to buy a supposedly magical box which grants one wish to the person who opens it. On your way to earning these gold pieces, you beat a bully senseless (who is abusing a homeless dog) and so make the dog a life-long companion.

Upon completing this small quest line, your sister makes a wish to live in Bowerstone Castle… which is granted. Too good to be true? You guessed right. The man who seems to be in charge of things at the castle proceeds to shoot your sister and none-too-kindly knock through a window that’s quite high up.

And so begins the main story arc of Fable 2 in which you seek to avenge your sisters death.

Interested yet? I am.

The combat system works much the same from the original Fable, but with tweaks and additions that make it much more interesting. Such as button combos are exactly as you would expect them to be from the title, but you now have the addition of ranged combat in the form of firearms. As well, the magic system as been revamped to introduce a leveled attack system. This means that the longer you press the button, the stronger your attack. Even more interesting is that there are no longer radial and direct attacks, but that each form of magic can be either. If you target an enemy, you attack them directly. If you chose not to target an individual, then your magic radiates from you to strike anyone and everyone within your range.

But the redesigned towns are the true marvel of the game. Townspeople AI is much more advanced as you would expect with the XBOX 360 to date. Every individual has a distinct and separate opinion of you based upon your actions towards them. You can even have a statue of yourself placed in the towns for people to either appreciate or loathe. But a more interesting feature is that if you chose to harass a town to much, not only will the guards attack you, but it can even get to a point where they will hunt you across the entire face of Albion.

So, as you can see, this is the game to wait for. Look for it in October as well as our review of it then. And remember that you found it right here on Gamer Vantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Children of all ages. Gather round and let me tell you a tale about this week’s pick.

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. And while the game itself released on multiple platforms, in particular, this week’s pick focuses on the Nintendo DS version.

While many people look at this game as a poor attempt to capitalize off of the LEGO Star Wars franchise, it is anything but. With a LEGO Batman title already in the works, it’s obvious - at least to myself - that they are likely doing fairly well in the marketplace.

But, that is beyond the point here. The outlook for today is on the game itself. And while it does have a few weaknesses, they are greatly surpassed by it’s strengths. Graphics for the game are dead on, smooth and bring to mind memories of playing with little LEGO people as a child.

The story itself is well known to almost everyone who has seen the movies. As with the LEGO Star Wars series, they movie levels are broken up into six levels each, making for a total of eighteen levels in all, with mini-games and bonus levels strewn throughout. The content for this game, especially on the DS, is amazing in it’s expanse. Each level can take nearly half an hour to beat; longer if you chose to collect every coin and find every secret.

The sounds and the score for the game are dead-on from the crack of the whip to the iconic Indiana Jones theme music. Anyone who liked, or as is the case with myself - loved - the music from the movies will definitely enjoy the soundtrack from the game.

As for gameplay, at times it feels like you’re back to playing LEGO Star Wars, but the introduction of new items such as the whip, the shovel, a monkey, and such in replacement of the Force brings fresh challenge to the game. Another point that this game shares with it’s LEGO brethren is that as you play through the levels, you can unlock and then buy new characters with which to replay the levels in free-play mode. Coupled with the fact that you can create your own character for the same purposes add a little bit of excitement to the package as well.

Also, you may find that the puzzles in this game are more challenging and therefore much more rewarding to solve. From actually blowing into the microphone to put out torches to disarming opponents with your whip to make them more susceptible to unarmed combat, or even deciding to pick up an item dropped by an enemy to help you on your quests will all be new experiences to delve into.

While I didn’t have any real complaints with this game, there were a few points where I felt they could have made it slightly less one-sided; as in an enemy on an unsurmountable ledge with a pistol and you’re only armament being an out-of-range whip while trying to solve a particularly difficult puzzle was a little frustrating. But such setbacks really don’t delay the games progress or dull it’s enjoyment factor nearly at all.

All in all, I give this game a 9.5

Graphics - 9.5
Sound - 9.5
Story - 9.5
Gameplay - 9.5

From the launch of the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), gamers all over the world have held their breath while waiting for the next system. And while, like any major system or game developer, they’ve hit a few bumps in the road, the quality is still impressive.

This year, E3 brought some news for Nintendo. While not quite as groundbreaking as Miscrosoft or Sony reveleations, news it still is, and I’m here to tell you all about it.

So, lets start of with our customary list of new games to hit the Wii and the DS in the future, shall we?

Mega Man 9 - Wii

Neopets Puzzle Adventure - Wii

Marker Man Adventures - DS

Our House - Wii

Wonderworld Amusement Park - DS

Touchmaster 2 - DS

Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness - DS

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility - Wii

de Blob - Wii

So, as you can see, there’s a slew of new titles set to hit the Wii and the DS in the near future for everyone to look forward to. But in other news we’re looking at a much bigger piece of news for the Wii. A piece of news that most people had been expecting to be more in line with a Microsoft or Sony release.

But, behold, Nintendo has announced plans for a new motion-sensitive remote to be released in conjunction with a brand new Wii Sports game - Wii Sports Resort. The new plug-in add-on is meant to make the motion sensing control even more precise. The new MotionPlus remote is capable of sensing motion on all three axis in 3-D space.

This new Wii Sports Resort game and the MotionPlus is scheduled to ship in Spring 2009.

As new news develops and more information gained on these soon-to-be new additions to the Wii and DS franchises, look for new articles to keep you posted and informed.

Until then, enjoy the read.

So, as you can see, gaming developers and Sony Entertainment have quite the work cut out for them.

In related news, at E3, 2008, Sony had other big announcements to make regarding the future of Playstation. Starting with the unveiling of a the new PS Network they move quickly on to the PS Video Store where you can either rent or buy movies, followed by two new ways to download content to your PSP. Next up is a new feature that will allow players to “call bullsh*t” on other gamers, streaming television content, and a fistfull of PS Network games. A Sony secret revealed is an all-new Ratchet and Clank episode-like downloadable game and the news that coming this fall, all PS gamers will be getting a Gamers-card which they can use to access content from the PC, PS3, or PSP.

As you can see, this is going to be a big year for the Playstation, including a new fall-2008 PS2 bundle which will include LEGO Batman and a Justice League cartoon movie.

Hope you gathered everything you had hoped for from the article. ‘Stay tuned’ for more E3 2008 coverage, right here on Gamer Vantage.

Atone here, everybody. And today I bring you the highlights from E3, 2008.

For those of you who have been hiding under rocks and in underground caverns for the last decade, E3 is one of gamings biggest events of the year. It stands for ‘Electronic Entertainment Expo’, or more commonly - E3. Gamers around the world have looked to E3 to inform them on new, upcoming, and otherwise innovative games and hardware either in development or in production since all the way back in 1995. I don’t know about you, but back in ‘95, I was still playing Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis.

This year, E3 took place between July 14th - July 17th and held a lot of huge surprises for everyone, but veteran gamers especially. While I can’t rightly write an entire article on every single aspect of the event, this is the first of many articles to hit back to back that will each cover a different console.

First up on our look at E3 2008 is the XBOX 360. Some of the big hits and some big changes have been announced for this and the following year. But first, lets take a look at some of the games in the works.

Borderlands

Fallout 3

Resident Evil 5

Tomb Raider Underworld

Just Cause 2

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

The Lord of the Rings: Conquest

Dungeon Hero

Legendary

Too Human

Mortal Combat VS. DC Universe

Unreal Tournament 3

Soul Caliber IV

Edge of Twilight

Two Worlds: The Temptation

Infinite Undiscovery

Saints Row 2

Left 4 Dead

LEGO Batman

Now, I’m sure you’re all hoping that I left a few off of the list. I did. The most anticipated and likely explosive hits for the XBOX 360 are coming up right now.

Fable 2

Halo Wars

Gears of War 2

But, for most gamers, the most unexpected surprise of the day came in the form of a teaser trailer released by Square-Enix. Final Fantasy XIII does not have a release date as of yet. But, what we do know is that it will be released simultaneously on the XBOX 360 and the PS3. The news of the series jumping to the 360 rocked some gamers while making others very excited.

In more big news, Microsoft announced ‘A New XBOX 360 Experience’. What does that mean? I’m going to tell you. It means that Microsoft is releasing a completely new design and interface for the 360. On top of totally revamping the entire dashboard of the system, they are also integrating some new features; such as allowing players to use their own NetFlix account to download and watch movies on their 360.

In response to Playstation Home and Wii Mii, they also plan to launch a new total-integration avatar system where every user has their own unique character that can be seen by other users as well as used in games. More innovations along these lines include a new Community Channel as well as a Live-Party System. They even are planning on a new Primetime Channel which allows users to star in their own game show.

Lastly at our look at the 360 is the news that the 20GB hard drive units will be dropped in price to $299, while a new unit with a 60GB hard drive will slowly replace it with a cost of $349.

All-in-all, we’re looking at big year for the XBOX 360 and some big games to go along with it. Not sure what this means yet for other consoles, but I’m sure that Sony and Nintendo both have something up their sleeve.

For this week, I think it’s safe to say that there are plenty of good games out there. With that in mind, there are also plenty of unbearably bad games out there. But then, you get lucky and find a game that completely blows you away with every new aspect that you come across. From the storyline, to the characters, to the graphics, and beyond. The game I’ve chosen for this week, is one that we’ve all heard of, yet newcomers to the series, or the genre, may find it hard to get into at first.

That game is over two years old and I chose it because I still hear people asking whether or not it is any good; or whether or not it is worth the money. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Well people, to put it simply. It is.

For those of you who don’t know anything about the game or the series, here is a quick rundown. It is an RPG in which you start out with low stats and no real items of use. You design your character from one of ten different races and then go on to define facial features right down to skin, hair, and eye color. As you play through the main quest, or not, you earn experience points which you use to raise your stats and attributes.

Sound simple? It is. But at the same time, it is a rich experience that, once it grabs you, refuses to let go. The first few minutes of the game find your character in prison living out a dismal lifelong sentence. But shortly, all of that will be thrown to the wind and you’ll find yourself traveling through the prison’s underground, learning the basics of the game, and being thrown head first into the main quest of the game.

Yet, one of the greatest things about Oblivion is that you can choose not to continue on the main quest and can instead opt to travel the vast, open-ended country of Cyrodill and explore the multitude of caves, cities, and caverns. Or, maybe you want to join a guild and rise through the ranks. Or maybe, you want to rob and pillage to gain vast wealth. Whatever you chose to do, the possibilities are in the hundreds.

Graphics for the newest installment of the Elder Scrolls series are amazing. Whether you chose to play it on the XBOX360, the PS3, or the PC, you will be amazed by the detail and smooth transitions. The wildlife, the weather, or just the sheer detail of the land will all catch your eye and dazzle you with the time and effort put into making this game what it is.

As for the score for the game, all I can say is that it’s wonderful. I personally love the music and sounds that are tailored to every encounter and situation. It just seems to fit right along with every other aspect of the game.

My only problem with this game was a little one, but was a problem none the less. It can be slightly glitchy at times and the load times should be cut down slightly. But these things in no way impede the game from it’s greatness.

So, for my pick of the week, I chose The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I rate it easily at 9.5 (Graphics-9.7, Sound-10, Story-9.5, Gameplay-10, Replay-9.5)

Hope y’all enjoyed the read. There will be a brand new pick of the week every Monday.
